Although I totally see your point (and love the song reference!), it still feels unnecessarily mean to ghost someone. If they were worthy of any of your time or attention, do they not merit an exit that doesn’t leave them wondering? A simple “thanks for sharing some time with me” or “it’s just not what I’m looking for” goes a long way in not leaving a person feeling…less than.

It’s not easy to say, harder to hear, but it definitely answers any questions you might have about how the other feels. After the good-bye, feel free to float away (and block, if necessary), but at least close the door firmly behind you.
